Subject:  Portrait male -- Wolcott, Henry P. -- Bust Occupation -- Art -- Painter Object Type:  Sculpture Owner:  Smithsonian American Art Museum, 8th & G Streets, N.W., Washington, District of Columbia 20560 Accession Number: 1974.88.37 Provenance:  Gift of Jones, Carlyle, Mrs., 1974. Plaza Art Galleries, 1956. Formerly in the collection of Metropolitan Museum of Art, 5th Avenue at 82nd Street, New York, New York 10028 ca. 1898-1956. Remarks:  After Warner died, the Wolcott bust was chosen by the National Sculpture Society as one of ten works from the artist's studio to be cast in bronze by Tiffany and Company in 1897/98 and given to the Metropolitan Museum. In 1956, the Metropolitan deaccessioned the work, and it was sold at the Plaza Art Galleries on June 7, 1956. Warner's daughter bought the work and, in 1974, gave it to the National Museum of American Art, then called the National Collection of Fine Arts. References:  National Museum of American Art, 1990.
