    William Medicus Willson and Ella Amelia Willson, were children of John Ward Willson II and La Fayette Helene Medicus Willson; they lived in Howard County, Maryland, near Laurel, in the family home, "Troy Hill." The artist, John Sartain, lived with the Willson family and painted them at the family home, "Troy Hill," in Howard County, Maryland, near Laurel, ca. 1857.
