    Description: 
    A relief plaque depicting geologist Ralph Stockman Tarr is installed on a natural boulder. The figure is seen in right profile, from the torso. He holds a pencil in his proper right hand and a notebook in his proper left hand. He wears an overcoat and a rimmed hat. There is a crude seating area carved into the reverse of the boulder.
