Description:
Four panels in vertical sequence on building facade. The figures represented include a Lenni Lenape Indian; founding settlers from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and Germany; George Washington, Marquis de Lafayette, Anthony Wayne, William Darlington, Bayard Taylor, Thomas McKean, Rebecca Lukens, Smedley D. Butler, Mark Sullivan, Herb Pennock, and George Morris Philips. Also represented are the Battle of the Brandywine and the encampment at Valley Forge. The uppermost panel has three figures of early settlers (representing farming), a Native American, a deer in the foreground, and a tree in the background. The next panel down has three figure representing statesmen; the next panel has three figure representing scholars; and the final panel has four figures, one of which is a baseball player.
