    Description: 
    Full-length standing figure of Frank Steunenberg, set on a circular base, with taller exedra behind. Steuneberg holds the proper right lapel of his jacket with his proper right hand. He wears conventional clothing of the 1900s. Proper right hand holds proper right lapel of suit jacket; proper left hand is down at his side. Identifying commemorative plaque on front of base, below figure. Eagles are carved on each side of the base. On the rear of the exedra is a relief carving of a Greek/Roman figure, under the words Law and Order. The full-length male relief figure holds a sword, blade downward, and large shield bearing state seal of Utah.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture is a memorial to Frank Steunenberg (1861-1905), a former governor of Idaho, assassinated outside his home in 1905. A memorial committee was established in 1907. The statue cost approximately $24,500 and was funded by public subscription and $15,000 from state appropriations. IAS files contain transcription of nearby plaque and articles from the Idaho Statesman dated December 11, 1927 and December 12, 1927.
