The sculpture is from the estate of Dr. Niles Quales, Chicago Norwegian-American physician of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Sigvald Asbjørnsen was a Norwegian-American artist based in Chicago, best known for his portrait busts, sculptures, and reliefs of famous Norwegians, Norwegian-Americans, and Americans.
