Remarks:
Albert Pike was born in Boston in 1809, and moved to Arkansas in 1833. He a brigadier general, CSA, in charge of Indian Territory. He also rendered service in both the war with Mexico and the Civil War (as a Confederate general). He was an associate justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court in 1864. After the Civil War he left Little Rock, moving first to Memphis and then to New Orleans. He was married to Mary Hamilton. In 1868 he settled in Washington, D.C., where he remained for the balance of his life. He died in Washington in 1891.
