Description:
Portrait of Charles Hosmer Morse, Jr. at age five seated on a bench, and his sister Elizabeth Owens Morse (later Mrs. Richard Genius) at age six standing beside him, on a stone terrace at the top of a staircase. The children wear white ruffled dresses with blue sashes, and a straw hat and red scarf rest at their feet. In the background there are leafy green trees and a view looking out over a valley toward the horizon in the distance.
