(On base, front:) CHARLES MORGAN/FOUNDER OF THE MORGAN SCHOOL/1871/ERECTED 1876 signed Founder's mark appears. Description:  Full-length figure of Charles Morgan stands on a square pedestal. The figure wears a suit with bow tie and long, double-breasted coat. His proper left hand is on his hip. He gave the town over $300,000 to establish a free school. The work is lit with a spotlight attached to the back of the base.
