King to submit designs for the grilled entrance and columns on the Brooklyn Public Library by architects Alfred Morton Githens and Francis Keally. The architects liked the design, and promised a job working with sculptor Carl Paul Jennewein, but the commission did not happen. In 1936, the column design was in the hands of the architects.
