Remarks:
John Rogers McDaniel was born in Clio, Marborough County, South Carolina, the son of John Baker and Mary Ann (Thomas) McDonald. He moved to Arkadelphia, Arkansas with his parents in about 1854. He was educated in South Carolina and graduated with a degree in medicine from Philadelphia Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1867. On Feb. 8, 1866 he married Catherine Burney Stark of Griffin, Georgia. He died on Sept. 8, 1918.
