Remarks:
Title supplied by Inventory cataloger.
The artist modeled the jockey's after their real life counterparts. The jockeys gave personal items to the artist, including riding boots, silks, saddles and goggles to help her create the sculptures. Then Lexington Mayor,Scotty Baesler drew the jockeys' names out of a hat to determine each jockey's position in the race. IAS files contain detailed dimensions for each piece. IAS files contain two undated articles from the Herald-Leader (Lexington, KY), and a brochure on Thoroughbred Park.
