    Description: 
    Portrait of Benjamin Lancy (1846-1923) as an older man standing in front of the steps at the entrance to his large Victorian home in Provincetown, his right hand resting on a walking stick. Seated on the steps to the left is his wife Lillie Clement Prince Lancy dressed in a long white wedding gown as she appeared when the couple married in 1879. Between them a large calla lily plant in a yellow pot stands in front of the entrance to their home.

    Remarks: 
    On the reverse there is a painting by the artist's husband William Zorach depicting: an abstract portrait of Benjamin Lancy standing in the front of a waterfall, his arms resting on a walking stick, his young wife standing in profile in the background, her arms raised, and her blond hair pulled back in a long braid. Growing along a hillside on the lower left is a red flower with large green leaves.
