    Description: 
    A bronze plaque with two bas-relief profile portraits, depicting the heads of Alvar Nunez Cabez de Vaca and Rene-Robert Cavelier de La Salle, set back-to-back. Below them is a brief history of Victoria, and on the flanking side bottom sections of the plaque is a bas-relief border of running herds of cattle or buffalo. The plaque is mounted on the front of a red granite wall and base.
