    Framingham Common in 1808, (painting).
    Artist:
    Bell, Daniel, painter.
    Title:
    Framingham Common in 1808, (painting).
    Medium:
    Watercolor.
    Description:
"Josiah Adams appears at the door of his office talking with his friend Isaac Fiske of Weston, a lawyer who was for many years Register of Probate for Middlesex County. Captain Bell stands in the foreground sketching. Col. David Brewer appears riding in his chaise and Dr. John B. Kittredge appears on horse-back. In the tavern door stands Abner Wheeler, proprietor of the tavern, and in front of Larrabee's shoe shop William Buckminster is talking with Miss Larrabee, who subsequently became his wife. In the distance, to the right, is the residence of Rev. Dr. Kellogg, built in 1759 and still standing. To the right of the Common are seen the old townhouse, the 'red Schoolhouse,' and the residences of Major Benjamin Wheeler and Nathan Stone. At the foot of the Common is the third meeting house, and at the left are the original Academy building, and the gun-house, which latter now constitutes part of the ell of the dwelling house of Mr. Wallace Nutting."
