Remarks:
Born in Clinton, North Carolina on Nov. 18, 1792. He married Martha Bass Batey on Nov. 29, 1821 in Brunswick County, Virginia. Col. King served in the War of 1812, He was with Jackson at New Orleans, and was with him in the Seminole War. In 1861, he fought with his four sons at Chattanooga. He died in Murfreesboro on April 5, 1877.
