    Description: 
    Relief with central medallion profile portrait of Francis Scott Key. The medallion is draped by an American flag and the relief plaque is edged with myrtle branches wrapped in a fillet which bears the lyrics of the National Anthem.

    Remarks: 
    Commissioned by the Daughters of the American Revolution, Baltimore Chapter, to mark the site of the death of Francis Scott Key. The Mount Vernon Place United Methodist Church was then the home of Key's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Howard. IAS files contain excerpt from the book "Art in Baltimore: Monuments and Memorials," by William Sener Rusk (Baltimore: The Norman, Remington Company, 1929).
