Plaque featuring a relief bust of Colonel James Keigwin in uniform and wearing a moustache. Below the relief is an inscription. The plaque is mounted on the upper front of a base consisting of a stele atop a pedestal.

Remarks:
Colonel James Keigwin commanded the 49th Indiana Infantry during the Vicksburg campaign. Erected by the federal government. The monument is on the National Park Service List of Classified Structures (LCS no. 03399). IAS files contain a copy of the LCS report form. Bronze cost $275 paid by Federal Government.
