The Royals were quickly established as a model franchise with innovative programs/to develop young players. Kauffman stadium, one of baseball's most beautiful ballparks, was opened in 1973, and/named in Mr. Kauffman's honor in 1993. During their ownership, the Royals won six division championships, two American Leaque pennants, and the World Series in 1985.
