    Remarks: 
    Benjamin Pendleton Jett was born in Virginia, the son of Burkett and Mildred Pendleton (Tutt) Jett. He moved to Washington County, Arkansas as a young man. He married Hester Block in Washington, Arkansas in 1832. There he organized the first Masonic Lodge in Arkansas and was speaker of the Arkansas House of Representatives in 1856.
