    Remarks:
In 1902, Danvers celebrated its 150th anniversary with the biggest parade the area had even seen. Robert Penn Hussey was the chief marshall with his mounted escort of over one thousand men. Though never in service, he was so taken with the event that, following his death, his son had the statue cast and located across from his home, now the New England Home for the Deaf. For related information see: Charles S. Tapley, "Country Estates of Old Danvers."
