    Remarks: 
    Philip Hone (1781-1851) was mayor of New York, 1825-1826. The sculpture is one of eight figures figures along the cornice of the building.
    The Surrogate's Court building was formerly known as the New York City Hall of Records. Horgan and Slattery are the building's architects and John Rochester Thomas is the building's designer.
