Remarks:
Born in Duplin County, North Carolina, the son of John Hill and Jane (Kenan) Hill. He married Rebecca K. Harris of South Carolina on May 11, 1818. He was a colonel in the Tennessee Militia, served in the War of 1812, and was with Andrew Jackson at New Orleans. He was secretary of the 1835 Tennessee Constitutional Convention. He died in Brazoria County, Texas.
