Portrait of William Henderson, born June 6th or 7th, 1785 in Virginia and died Nov. 6, 1847 in Troy, Illinois. It is believed the portrait was painted prior to Henderson's move to Illinois in 1835. The portrait may originally have been a full-length portrait, cut-down and put into a wood frame during the move. IAP files have additional sitter biographical information.
