    Remarks:
The concrete obelisk monument was dedicated in 1910 with a different iron Indian figure on top. The original Indian figure came a walking beam of a Hudson River steamboat, and between 1840 and 1910 was installed on the roof of the Weaver family barn. In 1910, too heavy for the barn, the sculpture was removed and reinstalled atop the obelisk. It remained there until removed by college students in 1964. A replacement Indian figure was placed atop the obelisk in 1965, but it too was stolen. The current Indian figure is the second replica to be installed on the obelisk. The obelisk was fabricated by Wheeler. IAS files contain copy of related transcription from Yates County Chronicle, Aug. 10, 1910.
