Description:
Bas-relief busts of four chaplains: George Lansing Fox, Clark Vandersoll Poling, Alexander David Goode, and John Patrick Washington. The chaplains are dressed in military uniform. The busts are part of a relief plaque that includes decorative elements and symbols.

Remarks:
Memorial to George Lansing Fox, Clark Vandersoll Poling, Alexander David Goode, and John Patrick Washington, four chaplains on the troop transport Dorchester. When a submarine torpedoed the vessel on Feb. 5, 1945, they gave away their life jackets to remain on the ship to comfort and help the others and went down with the ship.
