    Remarks: 
    Dr. John Douglass (Aug. 14, 1795-Aug. 20, 1870) of Blackstock, South Carolina married Mary Letherd Lunsford (Aug. 14, 1798-Aug 1., 1873) on May 8, 1817. He practiced medicine in Chester County for 40 years also served in South Carolina House of Representatives and the Senate between 1840-1848.
    The painting is unsigned, but believed to be the work of William Harrison Scarborough.
