    Description: 
    Commemorative plaque contains text and images. An Indian figure stands to the left, in front of a tree. The figure wears a headdress and buckskin trousers. There is a canoe to his proper left, half in the river and half on shore.

    Remarks: 
    Erected by the Fort Stanwix Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. The sculpture was originally on the facade of the post office building at James and Liberty Streets. The building was razed in 1937 and the sculpture was moved some time after that.
