Portrait of Samuel Davenport, born Feb. 4, 1764 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. He was the godfather of John M. Durst (IAP #51920001). Davenport is holding something resembling a newspaper in his right hand. He was a partner in the firm of Barr & Davenport in Nacogdoches, Texas.
