    Description: 
    Reverend John F. Carr, wearing a beard and mustache, walks with his proper right leg in stride and his proper left hand extended in front of his chest holding an open book. He is dressed in a bow tie and a knee-length jacket. The sculpture is mounted atop a base with a crest of olive branches, in relief, on the front of the cornice. The bottom of the base is stepped.

    Remarks: 
    The portrait sculpture of Reverend John F. Carr was installed by his friends in his memory. Carr was a Methodist minister and held various prestigious positions within the Methodist church during his lifetime, including presiding elder. He was appointed to the first church in Pine Bluff in 1884, and later filled pulpits in Lakeside and Riverside churches. Reverend Carr died on January 23, 1906. IAS files contain an obituary from the Pine Bluff Weekly Graphic, Jan. 24, 1906, pg. 1.
