The sculpture was originally erected in Cincinnati by the Ohio Dental Association. It was relocated in 1937 to the University at the Dental School, then located in Hamilton Hall. It was later moved to its current site, probably at about the time of its rededication in 1978, at what is now the Dental School at Postle Hall. The sculpture is lit from above.
