    Description:
Fifteen black men are seated in chairs on a stage and one is standing behind them on the right side. Some are holding or playing musical instruments. Behind the men is a large mural or stage set depicting a landscape. The stage is bordered on each side, and at top and bottom, by two sets of twigs or tree limbs. Within the border at top are inscriptions of the names of the portrait sitters, each name on a separate piece of what appears to be wood, hanging from two lengths of rope suspended from the tree limbs.
The upper center section of the top border is missing, and in its place are a violin and a tambourine. A framed portrait of a black man is hanging in front of the lower center section of the top border. Within the border at bottom is the title, place, and date inscription. Within the side borders are figures performing various vaudeville acts.
