Description:
Full-length figure of Carl Albert as he looked in the 1970s while serving as Speaker of the House of Representatives. He stands on a square pedestal. The figure wears a suit and tie. He holds a gavel in his proper right hand and his proper left hand is in his pocket.

Remarks:
Gift of Wanda and Clark Bass of McAlester, Oklahoma. Mr. & Mrs. Bass also commissioned an identical statue for Chadwick Park in McAlester. The pair of statues cost $60,000. Carl Albert is a native of Bugtussle, Oklahoma and a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives and as Speaker of the House under presidents Nixon and Ford.
