Inscription:  (Lower right:) Pauline Palmer signed Description:  Interior scene with a portrait of a young woman dressed in a diaphanous pink gown with a handkerchief hem, her body turned in profile to the left, and her attention directed toward a hand mirror held up in her left hand. She stands on her tiptoes in her bare feet, with her back pressed against a short fluted column entwined with ivy. Her light brown hair is pulled back in a bun, and she wears bright red lipstick. In the background there is an oriental screen with a scene depicting a white swan.
