According to "Virginia Genealogies" by Rev. Horace Hayden (pg. 175-176), Margaret Brown Stone was born in 1749 or 1750 at "Rich Hill" in Charles County, Maryland; she died on June 1, 1787. In 1768, she married Hon. Thomas Stone of "Havre de Venture" in Charles County, Maryland. She was the daughter of Gustavus Brown, M.D. and his second wife, Margaret Black Boyd.
