Description:
Allegorical figure representing Faith with arms extended. The face on the figure is the artist's daughter, Olga Aderente Liston. Surrounding the figure is a mosaic pattern created with a template pressed into the wall material in an irregular design. The wall was then given a light wash of brown or black, which was wiped off, leaving a bit of wash remaining in the indentations between each square of the mosaic.

Kings County Hospital, 451 Clarkson Avenue, Executive Conference Room, Brooklyn, New York 11203
Remarks:
One of four allegorical figures that once comprised two murals formerly installed in the lobby of a new extension of the hospital. Later the murals were moved to the executive conference room, and at that time were cut into four separate pieces to accommodate the wall space in the conference room. Originally the figures of Science and Knowledge appeared in one mural panel and the figures of Wisdom and Faith appeared in the other mural panel. IAP files contain reconstructed images of how the murals may have looked before they were cut into four separate pieces. IAP files contain a copy of a newspaper article from the North Shore Daily Journal, April 26, 1932, that mentions the murals once flanked the central mural titled "A Hospital's Noble Work for Humanity" (IAP record number 78460031).
