The subject is standing in front of heavy drapery. She is turned to her proper left side, but is looking towards the viewer. Her proper right arm is at her side, while her proper left arm reaches across her body so that she holds some of the material of her dress on her proper right side. Architectural ornamentation is visible in the right background, behind which the sky also appears.
