Portrait of Henrietta Armitt (Brown) Heckscher with her daughter, Lucretia Stevens Heckschler, age 9-10, and son, Maurice, age 6-7. Commissed by her husband, Stevens Heckscher, a few months after her death, her face was rendered from a photograph and the children's nurse sat for the portrait. She died in child birth on June 11, 1912.
