    From May 9, 1883 letter written by Annie I. Crawford to Caroline Dall, found in the Caroline Wells Healey Dall Papers, Massachusetts Historical Society. Annie I. Crawford wrote: "I have sent two heads to Boston to Doll and Richards, hoping that they may be able to sell them for me. One is the head of Mabel Chisler, that very quiet head you remember, you thought of taking (I think) instead of the little fair head you decided upon."
