    Galusha Anderson was a clergyman and educator who became a professor at Newton Theological Institution in Massachusetts. For eight years he was president of the old Chicago University, then was president of Denison University. Returning to Chicago, he accepted a chair of homiletics and theology at the newly-founded University of Chicago.
