DESIGNED BY SHARON GRAU, ARCHITECT/FRANK E. GRAU, ARCHITECT (Just below head:) Here where paths cross, this memorial/is dedicated to Quintin G. Noblitt,/a man of vision. Born October 11, 1882/of modest heritage, he was a leading/and respected citizen of his state at his death July 3, 1954. Humility/and generosity were lifetime qualities/of this man./An early conservationist and ecologist,/he reclaimed thousands of acres of barren soil by creating lakes where/nature had not provided ample/reservoirs. He made his beloved/Bartholomew County more productive,/more scenic and more enjoyable/through developing its recreation possibilities./He and his wife, Grace Taylor Noblitt,/gave these 70 wooded acres and the/old farmhouse to the Columbus/Foundation For Youth in 1935. Since/that time these rolling hills and the/lake below have echoed with laughter/and songs of hundreds of boys and/girls. Here they have lived, if even/for a brief interlude, close to nature,/discovering their physical and mental/capabilities and experiencing a/spiritual awareness of the world/around them. signed
