    Remarks:
The sculptures were created as a class project over several years by Environmental Design professor Rodney Hill and his architecture students at Texas A&M University. The project was initiated by the Parks and Recreation Department which enlisted help from students who were interested in planning the gathering areas of Oaks Park. Originally, there were forty carved oak posts, but many of the carvings have been cut off or damaged by vandals, leaving only fourteen. IAS files contain an article from The Battalion (Texas A&M University), Feb. 20, 1980; and a listing of the students and the sculptures they created.
