    Remarks:
The statue commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Fort Hays Experiment Station. The bull, wheat and sorghum depicted by the sculpture represent the primary objects of the station's research. The survey reports that the bull is carved from Kansas limestone, but Hays Daily News (Kansas) article dated June 14, 1976, states it is Indiana limestone. IAS files contain copies of articles from the Hays Daily News (Kansas) June 14, 1976, and the Wichita Eagle, Oct. 23, 1976.
