    Remarks:
In 1928, John C. Taylor purchased four bronze faun figures in Brindisi (Italy). They were then reportedly 200 years ago and each was distinctive in pose. In Kansas City, the fauns were installed in a fountain designed by J. C. Nichols Company at the Southwest corner of 47th and Broadway. Upon completion of Plaza Central Park, in 1958, the figures were relocated to their present site on Nichols Roads, just east of Broadway. Three of the fauns were stolen in 1964 and 1965. Replicas were made from the remaining faun. (Hence, all fauns are now identical in pose.) The fauns were restored Sept. 17, 1993 by Jensen Conservation Services, Inc. In 2004, Kansas City Adopt A Monument reported that all sculptures owned by the J. C. Nichols company should be changed to Highwoods Property.
