    Description: 
    Full-length stylized female figure of Tsonqua, a mythical giant in Northwest Indian lore. She stands upright, her knees slightly bent and her arms outstretched. The cedar figure is painted black with green, red and white highlights. Her breasts are painted with a stylized design. Her knees also have stylized designs. The sculpture stands on a metal and concrete base.

    Remarks: 
    The sculpture was commissioned by Richard White and was originally located at White's restaurant, Kiana Lodge. In 1985 White donated the sculpture, along with three others, to the City of Seattle through the Pioneer Square Association. The sculpture was refurbished at the artist's studio (Poulsbo, WA) and installed at its present location in 1987. SOS! survey and Seattle Art Commission give title as "Tsonqua"; Rupp lists title as "Tsonoqua".
