A colossal red snake made of steel plates in an abstract, cubist form. The snake sits on a sidewalk and is parallel to the street. The snake's body zigzags along the sidewalk both vertically and horizontally. The middle section of the body makes four arches over the sidewalk, through which a pedestrian can walk. The snake's head has a small rounded hump for the eye and its mouth is open. The tail is a series of six cubes which decrease in size. The inner surfaces of the snake are orange.

Remarks:
"Kolowisi" is the Zuni name for "Plumed Serpent." The sculpture was funded by the city of Albuquerque's Percent for Arts program. Cost of the sculpture was $11,875.00. The steel plates were salvaged from the floor of a factory warehouse. Bruce Brown helped cut each of the 13 different sections. The pieces were then brought to the Lomas Street site and welded into one piece on location.
