    Description: 
    Bust of Italian composer Guiseppe Verdi (1813-1901) dressed in a jacket and a long scarf. He has a beard and moustache, and his hair is brushed back from his face. The bust rests on a tall, three-tiered base adorned on the back and both sides with the musical notes and a few words from his operas, Traviata, Aida, and Rigoletto. On the front of the base is a relief of a loosely-draped, bare-chested female figure holding a violin in her proper right hand. Her proper left hand is raised to her proper left ear.
