Her hair is pulled back in a ponytail and she wears a skirt and loafers. The girl wears a dress and lies across the lap of the woman, chin in hand, and reads the boy's book. Her proper left hand holds the woman's proper right hand. The boy, dressed in hightop sneakers, long pants, t-shirt and baseball cap, rests his proper right foot on top of the bench and leans against the woman. He reads "Gonzalo Coronados, Shepherd Boy," by Mary Tobias, which he holds with both hands.
