Inscription:  unsigned Description:  Abstract fountain comprised of various sized boulders, including three rocks placed upright and one lower flat rock in front, from which water spouts and runs down into tiled pool. Subject:  Abstract Literature -- Rasmussen Object Type:  Outdoor Sculpture -- California -- San Diego Fountain Sculpture Owner:  First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego, 4190 Front Street, Courtyard, San Diego, California 92103 Remarks:  In 1960, the President of the Religious Arts Guild requested that the triangle of ground between the Church school and auditorium be reserved for a fountain. Funding was provided through unallocated funds of the Memorial Gifts Committee, and a substantial gift honoring Myron Blackman. Nearby plaque, with poem written by church member Anne Rasmussen, reads: In Memoriam Memories come like unseen wind stirring the olive leaves, pour forth like water from a stone, or shimmer in a silent pool. Designed by James Hubbell Dedicated 1968. IAS files contain a church brochure listing names of people memorialized, members of the Memorial Gifts and Fountain Committees, and volunteers.
