Remarks:
The painting was exhibited in "Paintings of Thomas S. Noble 1835-1907" at the Art Institute of Chicago, 1908, no. 11, and the painting was exhibited at Chicago's Interstate Industrial Exposition in 1875 and the Zanesville Industrial Exposition in Dec. 1873. The title comes comes from Edgar Fawcett's poem titled "Counsel" published in 1872.
